Our founder, Andrea Stark, spent the last decade mastering her craft to become one of the best Colorado photographers for families and portraits. These sessions are something she loves to do year after year for families whose beautiful children grow right in front of her lens. That is a special gift to and an honor she doesn’t take lightly. So when her workload got too much, she sought out to build the best team of local Colorado photographers to join Bound for the Mountains. Andrea handpicks and trains each associate photographer under the Bound Education curriculum she designed to ensure you get consistently beautiful images.

I love portraiture; it’s an art form that is often forgotten but never ceases to speak to families for generations to come. During portrait sessions, I give simple and natural directions instead of heavy-handed posing so that I can focus on how you naturally are with each other and then frame those moments in time for you to hold near.

Shooting these life highlights in the mountains is a specialized craft. This skill is one I’ve come to deeply value over my tenure in the mountains. I know that if it’s extremely cold, I have to take special precautions to keep my extra batteries warm to ensure my camera doesn’t lose power due to weather. I know easy access points to key photography areas to make sure they are always accessible. I know the special nooks and peaks where and when lighting is at its best. I use the Rocky Mountains as my studio and that requires technical skill that I bring to each and every session. That’s why the best Colorado photographers are local. The mountains are magical but they’re also very technical. The images are worth every extra bit of effort on my part!
