Andrea Stark, Founder and Executive Photographer

Our founder, Andrea Stark has dedicated her professional life to capturing those moments for families and couples, and with those moments, comes a bigger story that we understand and value to the fullest.

Andrea Stark is a mother to two girls, online and in-print published photographer, creator, entrepreneur, and lover of all things mountains. Combining her passion for photography and service, she created a one-of-a-kind mountain photography experience through Bound for the Mountains.

After growing up in Minnesota, Rachel followed her love for the mountains out to Colorado. Although she’s called Breckenridge home for over a decade, she continues to be humbled by all the beauty this state and mountain lifestyle has to offer.

Photography began as a hobby but has since evolved into a much deeper passion. Inspired by photographs that tell stories and evoke complete emotion, she has a unique ability to capture these moments as they are happening, allowing that memory to be cherished forever.

How much does it cost to hire a Bound for the Mountains photographer?
All of our offerings are all inclusive. You get the photography service, our personalized tips and guides, photo gallery, digital downloads and a stress free experience.

Portraits Sessions range from $550-$950
Elopements and proposals start at $950

Do you travel?
Yes! We love traveling to new mountain towns. If you don’t see your destination listed, you can always make a request and we’ll give you a custom proposal.
When is the best time to book a mountain portrait session?
We can accomodate a year in advance and even last minute bookings.

Our busiest seasons are:
Peak Summer Season: June-August
Peak Fall Season: September-October
Peak Holiday: Memorial Day Weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day Weekend, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Eve, MLK Weekend, Presidents Day
Peak Winter: December-March

But I haven’t ever done a professional photo session, what do I do?
Trust us! You’re in good hands and in the right place. We will gently guide you through our unique time developed process to make sure you look good.
How would you describe your style?
Natural light and airy, not overly edited, timeless images
How do I book?
When you’re ready to book, I will send you a contract and invoice for a 50% retainer to reserve your date.
Do I get digital downloads?
Yes! We don’t believe in holding your photos hostage. You get high resolution and digital downloads in your personalized online gallery. You can order, download, and share the images as much as you want.
Do you have any recommendations on what to do and where to eat while on vacation in Colorado?
Yes, you can download our guides to get our recommendations on local activities and dining for specific mountain towns like Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, and Aspen.
Can you help me with finding other vendors like florists, makeup, and catering?
Yes! Once you book, you get our rolodex of local vendors.
Why should I book a Bound for the Mountains photographer while I’m on vacation in the mountains?
We are locals who know the area and experts in our location and craft. We know how to accommodate mountain storms, i70 traffic, plan for best lighting in an area, and plan locations to avoid on peak visitor days. For example, you do NOT want to propose on the 4th of July weekend under the covered bridge in Vail Village).
